Barcelona, Spain. The 14 of July, a group of men of the industry, under the presidence of Damian Mateu and Francisco Seix, founded "La Hispano-Suiza, sociedad anónima, fábrica de automóviles".
The tecnic departament head was the important engineer Mr. Marc Birkigt.
Marc Birkigt had designed some years ago the "La Cuadra", in 1900. This cars are said to be the ancestors of the Hispano-Suiza car.
This is the only example that has survived. Is in the Mateu family (founders of La Hispano-Suiza) since 1927.
In 1906, "La Hispano-Suiza" appear for first time in the Paris auto Salon.

In 1907, La Hispano-Suiza developed the first 6 cylinder car ever produced at Spain, the great 60-75 HP.
