Bonjour mon ami .

My first post here . I have viewed this forum often , as you folks seem to post the most wonderful photo's and seem very knowledgable about the history of auto racing .

I wasn't sure where this fit , but it does pertain to some sport car questions , so I thought here was as good as any .

We are have a discussion at the Atlas Nostalgia forum about the Hotchkiss record car of the 1930's .

It started from a miss-identified photo , and has grown from there .

This is the photo .

It was labeled as Brooklands , but we were pretty sure that was wrong . It has been decided it is at Montlhery . The fencing puzzled some of us a bit . But someone said they had seen such fencing in the turns over the garages . Is this correct ? Does anyone know ?

Another photo has us a bit puzzled , this one .

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x207/Starcowboy/old%20stuff/get2.jpg

We knew the record car was re-bodied and used in a race at Brooklands . But is this one a different car ? Perhaps one the Hotchkiss used in sport car races ? I have seen quite a few entries in Sport car events from the time period and thought perhaps this was the car used for those races .

I'll leave it at that for now . Any info in general about the cars will be greatly appreciated . I don't speak French , but I understand it more than I can use it , if that makes sense . Here is a link to the thread at Atlas where we are discussing this . Perhaps it will help . As I say , any info on the cars will be of great help .

Hello Robby

I will try to write in english but unfortunately, this is not a fluent one . . .

I never saw the pictures above. The first is really great ! ! ! Thank you

The second one doesn' represent a Hotchkiss in my opinion.

The closed car ran only at Montlhéry beetwen 1933 and march 7th 34.

Then, the Hotchkiss 411 received a new body open top.

This car competed in the Brookland 500 miles in september 1935 with #26 and finished 6th

I'll revert shortly with other pictures

Hello Yves . Your English seems fine to me . It is a shame I am not so good with French .

I am glad you like the picture . It is a beautiful car , I think .

So you don't think the second picture is a Hotchkiss ? Do you know what it is , by chance ?

That matches what I have seen . But I also saw where the car was used in 1935 at Montlhery for a 48 hour record attempt . Do you know if this is true ?

I have seen that photo from Brooklands . I am looking forward to seeing the others you have .

I will post the photos I have , in case you have not seen them .

This first one was found on e-bay . It is supposed to be from a car expo at the French Grand Prix at Montlhery in 1935 or 1937 . We had a bit of trouble on the translation .

I know nothing about these others .

Do you , or anyone , know anything about them . Such as when they were used , in what order .

Thank you again Yves . I looked at your website . Very Good !
