Quelles étaient les teintes de carrosserie de ces différentes 203 ?

Parmi elles, figure au moins une, spécialement "affutée" par Gaby Imperatori, mécanicien du garage Giraud, PEUGEOT à DIGNE : carbus spéciaux..dont un carbu paraît-il (?) alimentait exclusivement un cylindre, à un certain régime..car il manquait d'alimentation d'origine... Cette voiture en fin de carrière, aurait été reprise par Peugeot pour être "étudiée".

Pour 652 M 04 elle appartenait à Pierre Escanez décédé il y a environ 3 ans, ici au volant. C'est le seul rallye qu'ils aient fait ensemble.

Pour 734 AJ 04, elle appartenait je crois à Gabriel Augias. Elle était de couleur verte comme celle-ci et non pas grise comme elle a été reproduite en miniature

 

 

Pour 244 R 04, elle appartenait certainement à Paul Delaye et était noire.

 

 

Pour 856 AF 04 et 34 AE 04, elles appartenaient certainement aussi à Delaye je pense.

A l'occasion d'une promenade avec ma fille et mes petits enfants, retour sur le lieu où a été prise cette photo ayant fait l'objet d'un poster dans la revue Sport Auto de mai 1965. 50 ans déjà! La Tubolare et Jean Rolland ne sont plus là mais les cèdres ont bien poussé, cachant complètement la barre des Dourbes au dessus de Digne.

Il y a 40 ans, le dimanche 17 septembre 1967, Jean Rolland disparaissait. Il effectuait des essais en vue des 1000 kms de Paris sur le circuit de Montlhéry. Probablement sur rupture d'une suspension, sa voiture s'envolait, percutait des arbres et s'enflammait. Ainsi disparaissait un grand champion, l'amateur champion comme l'avait surnommé Jacques Jaubert dans un article paru sur Echappement d'avril 73. C'était également le titre du livre qu'il lui dédia.

Une randonnée historique dénommée 2e Mémorial Jean Rolland devait célébrer ce 40e anniversaire. Le nombre d'engagés étant insuffisant, la balade a été annulée mais une commémoration aura tout de même lieu sous la forme d'une expo temporaire, du 17 au 29 septembre en Mairie de Digne les Bains, la ville où il a vécu. Le samedi 29 aura lieu une cérémonie avec visite du petit musée qui lui est consacré.
