Ne me surestime pas,j'attaquais surtout quand ça ne dépassait pas le 80 !Je n'allais quand même pas déjà faire une veuve et 2 orphelins au début d'une si prometteuse carrière.....

C'est quand même bizarre hein Bruno,je reconnais sur ces 2 photos les numéros d'immatriculation de ma camionnette.Ca ce n'est pas bien......

Demain, nous reviendrons sur l'édition 1996 qui fut pour moi assez contrastée. C'est là que j'ai pris une leçon de vie phénoménale!

Vu cette magnifique meteo qui me prive de ma sortie VTT dominicale, voici le récit de ma participation au Condroz 1996.

 

J'avais loué une Renault Clio Williams GrN à LOCA RALLYE basé à St Hubert. Sur papier, j'avais droit à un réglage de mon siège, réglage suspension-freins, cinq mécanos, quatre types de pneus, une camionette...

 

L'essai avait été "tendu". Le boss de LOCA RALLYE avait décrété que c'était bon comme çà pour le siège (alors que je me plaignais d'être assis trop haut), quand aux freins, il refusa sèchement de me mettre plus de balance sur les arrières.

 

En temps normal, j'aurais préféré en rester là, mais je ne m'alignais pas au Condroz 96 pour mon unique plaisir. J'avais cette année-là, pris une décision importante: faire participer les enfants malades de l'ASBL Jour après Jour de façon active au Rallye du Condroz!

 

 

Il nous avait fallu six mois de travail acharné pour mettre sur pied le projet. D'abord, nous avions rencontré la présidente de l'ASBL à Bruxelles, ensuite la chasse aux sponsors pouvait s'engager.

 

Le principe était le suivant: les gamins signaient une feuille qui était ensuite scannée pour réaliser un lettrage autocollant. La Clio devenait ainsi "leur" auto. Des navettes étaient louées avec des chauffeurs pour le transport des enfants sur les spéciales. Une rencontre avec Freddy Loix avait été programmée. Un internat assurait le logement des enfants, staff médical et accompagnateurs. Un resto assurait les repas... Une belle machine, donc! Et beaucoup d'énergie!

 

A 15 jours du Condroz, alors que je me trouvais en Tchéquie, une mauvaise nouvelle tomba. Deux importants sponsors se retiraient créant un trou de 3000 euros. Je sonnais alors à ma copilote et nous prîmes la décision de nous auto-financer. Nous avions déjà rencontré les petits malades et il était hors de question de nous désister!

 

La presse salua notre projet!

 

Nous arrivames donc le vendredi pour apprendre que seuls deux mécanos nous couveraient avec une "camionette de facteur" et que nous aurions droit à deux types de pneus! J'avais compris que nous avions étés arnaqués! Mais trop tard, fallait rouler!

 

Extrait de mon journal de bords:

"Ingrid est très tendue au moment de passer sur le podium de départ. C'est normal, pour elle, c'est le grand saut. Premier rallye de sa vie! Et quel rallye!

Les enfants sont là et nous acclament, çà fait vraiment très chaud au coeur. On a bossé pour eux et ils ont l'air heureux!

Spéciale de Bas-Oha. Go! Apprentissage en douceur, faut pas se virer, penser aux gosses qui nous attendent plus loin...

Il fait piègeux. A Marneffe, nous signons un temps dans les 10 premier du groupe N, 2 litres.

Les spéciales s'enchaînent. Ma copilote a parfois un peu de mal, faut dire que nous avons reconnu avec une Golf de 68ch et la Clio Williams en fait 180! Nous sommes dans des chronos honorables malgré mon manque de compétition et les réglages de l'auto qui ne me plaisent absolument pas.

Dans mon jardin de Goesnes, je ne m'amuse pas, aucune motricité et il fait très gras. Il a tellement plu avant le rallye!

Dans la premiere spéciale de la seconde boucle, je fais un mauvais choix de pneus. Il flotte dans la 1, fait sec dans la deux.

A Villers, je suis au taquet. Ingrid annonce ses notes maintenant comme une pro et je commence à trouver le bon rythme.

Mais la Renault commence a avoir des ratés.

C'est le début de la fin. A Goesnes, nous sommes à l'agonie. Mon père est à l'ancienne école de Jallet, les poings dressés vers le ciel. Il a compris en voyant passer les deux voitures parties derrière nous que l'auto ne va plus.

Nous redescendons sur Huy. Sur l'avenue, nos pauvres mécanos font ce qu'ils peuvent. Mais 30' passent, la Clio refuse de démarrer. L'équipage Sacré-Hamende est hors course. C'est fini.

Il est vingt heures. Ingrid pleure. Un des gars écrase une larme. Moi, je suis figé devant la Meuse.

Je regarde ma montre. Les enfants sont au resto. On va les rejoindre.

Quand nous entrons dans l'Oreille Cassée. Toutes les personnes présentes dans le resto se lèvent et nous applaudissent longuement. je m'enferme dans les WC pendant dix minutes, je ne sais plus contrôler mes larmes."

 

Le dimanche, nous accompagnerons les enfants partout sur les spéciales. Une "invitée" se joint à nous pour une photo:

Le dimanche soir en rentrant à mon domicile dans ma Golf Diesel, j'étais loin de m'imaginer la suite.

 

Loca Rallye qui avait signé avec moi un contrat en bonne et due forme refusa d'honorer les clauses de celui-ci. L'affaire se termina néanmoins en ma faveur grâce à certains arguments que je gardais en réserve...

Ainsi je pu rouler avec une Opel mant i-240 aux Circuit des Ardennes quatre mois plus tard.

 

Ma gentille copilote devint mon épouse six ans plus tard...

 

L'ASBL Jour après Jour nous "zappa" rapidement avant de passer à justine Henin qu'elle zappera également...

 

Et le Rallye du Condroz 1996 sera mon dernier Condroz!

 

Les années suivantes, grâce à l'expérience acquise dans l'organisation de navettes, je proserai un service VIP qui donnera bien des idées à certains... Mais c'est une autre histoire.

Encore 1990 et quelques remarques...

 

 

Les casques sont de simples jet de moto équipés de micros et écouteurs.

Les pneus AV sont des "terres", les autres sont des pneus conventionnels.

On n'a pas encore les noms de l'équipage sur les vitres latérales arrières.

Les GrN sont encore équipées de leur banquette arrière.

Le budget de location était de 3 720 euro, caution de 2 000 euro non comprise.

Les reconnaissances débutaient environ 3 semaines avant le rallye.

Enfin... dernière constatation, j'avais...26 ans!

J'avais à l'époque fait l'acquisition de l'escort 2000 RS mk1 ex Jacky Theodory avec laquelle je disputais quelques course de côte mais elle était vraiment trop belle pour venir l'aligner au Condroz à une période de l'année ou froisser de la tôle était monnaie courante........

Edition 1980. J'ai assisté de très près à la sortie de cet équipage danois. L'auto était neuve, le pilote pleurait à chaudes larmes!

C'était dans la descente du bois de Tihange très piègeuse avec ses bosses en plein appuis.

En bas du parcours vitae, Colsoul avait un peu malmené les spectateurs en ratant le freinage pour le droit au pont...

FA est une grosse machine et elle a permis à beaucoup d'entre nous de pouvoir communiquer leur passion et aussi de se rencontrer.

Comme tout phénomène sociologique, on dérape (on est toujours en rallye!) et parfois on sort de la route.

 

En lançant ce topic, j'espèrais amener des intervenants à raconter leurs anecdotes et souvenirs. Nous restons malheureusement en petit comité.

 

Mais on peut encore y croire.

 

Une petite contribution, là, il faudrait que les spécialistes m'aident. Le jeune con que j'étais alors ne jurait que par son enduro et maniait assez mal son Kodak Pocket. En 1980, je pense...

Vandermasen est sorti de la route durant l'édition 1983 à Odoumont dans la spéciale de Goesnes blessant au passage mon mécano et ma petite amie de l'époque. Sans trop de gravité heureusement.

Je vois que tu es toujours fidèle à ta passion.

C'est vrai que les rallyes des années 80, c'était une ambiance magique.

La course était ouverte aux amateurs.

Pour la Bmw 323 groupe 2, sauf erreur de ma part, il doit s'agir de la voiture de Hermes Delbar, pilotée par l'occasion par Timo Makinen.

Hermes Delbar alias Sotrim qui avait effectué son retour en rallye en Porsche 911 pour malheureusement constater que les groupes 2 de l'époque style kadett gte, et erscort 2000 rs groupe 2 lui tournaient autour (moteurs préparés et pneus racing).

Il lui a fallu le temps pour comprendre qu'une grand tourisme d'origine avec des pneus conventionnels même bien pilotée était dépassée par ces petites bombes qui n'avaient pas le prestige d'une Porsche 911.

Je vois que tu es toujours fidèle à ta passion.

C'est vrai que les rallyes des années 80, c'était une ambiance magique.

La course était ouverte aux amateurs.

Pour la Bmw 323 groupe 2, sauf erreur de ma part, il doit s'agir de la voiture de Hermes Delbar, pilotée par l'occasion par Timo Makinen.

Encore une petite de cette année 1980:

Hermes Delbar alias Sotrim qui avait effectué son retour en rallye en Porsche 911 pour malheureusement constater que les groupes 2 de l'époque style kadett gte, et erscort 2000 rs groupe 2 lui tournaient autour (moteurs préparés et pneus racing).

Il lui a fallu le temps pour comprendre qu'une grand tourisme d'origine avec des pneus conventionnels même bien pilotée était dépassée par ces petites bombes qui n'avaient pas le prestige d'une Porsche 911.
